Alexander in Education

Below is a short film (7 mins) showing all the ways Alexander Technique is being used in education and it explains ways it could be helpful to children and young adults in the future, developing self understanding and skills for life. Included in the film is Educare Small School and my teaching of Alexander technique there.

Why have Alexander work in schools?

Learning the Alexander Technique is about acquiring practical skills that enable and empower us all to use ourselves - our bodies and minds - in the way that we were designed to. If we are able to do this we can grow, learn and work to our true potential.

The Society of Teachers of the Alexander Technique (STAT) has a website with details of the benefits of Alexander in Education, how it is taught and where it is taught, Click here to go to the Alexander in Education website.

What does it offer teachers?

It gives teachers great self-care skills: helping them

- Look after their bodies and prevent damaging wear and tear while working in a classroom, especially important where teachers have to cope with a child-sized environment.

- Look after their voices

I PROVIDE: teachers INSET day workshops and ongoing lessons or classes. There is a range of INSET day modules available, varying form 2 hours to whole day. Please contact me for more details.
